Germany
The hidden beauty is the topic German photographer Hans van Ooyen is focussed to. „I find that in each girl and woman passing on the road or sitting in a restaurant“, van Ooyen points out. „By that I am not interested in those glamour-girls you will see in the magazins. I always work with women who never before stand in front of a camera. Because there you find a piece of real beauty.“
Hans van Ooyen, born 1954 in Germany, started his carreer as a writer of poems, short stories and radio-plays. Some of his works are published in more than 20 languages. The camera is a tool that he discovered in his childhood because his father was a photographer, too. But it took a long time for him to find photographics even more fascinating than writing. Now van Ooyen, who was working as a lector in a book publishing house and as a director in a advertising agency in Berlin, tries to build bridges between literature and fine art nudes.
Hans van Ooyen published the photographic books “CLOSE TO YOU – erotic moments”, “CityLights – Photoart” and “Erotic Colours – Ten Years Fine Art Photography”. As a writer he has published many books, the last was “Liebesflüstern – Erotische Gedichte” with love-poems. Some of his works are translated into 20 foreign languages. Van Ooyen received many prizes for his literary work, for example German Short Story Award, Literary Prize of the City of Aachen and Alfred-Kitzig-Award for Realistic Literature.
